Metal Slug Tactics (PS5)

Switching from turn-based strategy to this felt seamless, the way units move around the map and chain attacks is super satisfying. I've already replayed several missions just to unlock different loadout combos.

I was a little skeptical about a tactical version of Metal Slug, but the way it blends classic run-and-gun energy into turn-based battles is surprisingly seamless. The pixel art looks fantastic on PS5, and the fast-paced missions keep that old-school adrenaline going.

The turn-based combat finally gives this series room to breathe, and pulling off a perfect dodge-and-counter chain feels just as wild as the old run-and-gun days. I’ve already lost two evenings to the unlockable weapon loadouts, and the SNK-style music gets stuck in my head between missions.
