Blazing Strike (Switch)

The 2D sprite art really channels that classic arcade era, and the roster feels like a proper tribute to the old-school giants. It’s got that snappy, grounded combat pacing I remember from the 90s, though the single-player mode could use a bit more depth.

I was a little skeptical of another retro-style fighter, but the roster here is genuinely varied. The combo system has a nice weight to it, and each character's moveset feels distinct. Really glad I picked this up for some quick local matches.

The parry system feels incredibly satisfying to pull off, and the roster of classic-inspired fighters brings back so many memories. I’ve already sunk a few hours into arcade mode and the frame data is tight.
