Indivisible (PS4)

The mix of platforming and turn-based combat feels surprisingly fluid, and I love how the hand-drawn environments make exploring the world feel like an adventure. It scratches that same itch Valkyrie Profile did years ago.

The side-scrolling combat feels really satisfying once you get the hang of chaining attacks, and the hand-drawn environments are gorgeous. I just wish the story pacing was a bit tighter, but it’s kept me hooked for hours.

I was excited for a Valkyrie Profile-style RPG, but the platforming sections feel more frustrating than fun. The combat system is solid once you get the hang of it, though.
