Pikmin 4 (Switch)

The new Oatchi companion adds a fresh layer of strategy that makes commanding Pikmin feel more dynamic than ever. It took me a few tries to get the hang of the night expeditions, but the challenge is incredibly rewarding once you do.

I was skeptical about another sequel, but the way you can now rewind time to save lost Pikmin is a game-changer for someone like me who gets attached to digital plants. It runs buttery smooth on the Switch, too.

The co-op mode saved my marriage—my partner handles the whistle while I micro-manage the little plant guys, and the “grow, pluck and command” loop is absurdly addictive. The new night missions are a fresh twist that keeps the pacing snappy.
