Rise of Venice (PC)

The political maneuvering and trade routes are surprisingly deep for a game this old, and I've spent hours just optimizing my supply chains. It really captures the feel of Renaissance Venice without being a dry history lesson.

I was skeptical about another trading sim, but the diplomacy mechanics really add depth—negotiating trade rights with rival families kept me hooked for hours.

The trade routes feel alive with the Renaissance setting, and the way Venice’s political intrigue weaves into every deal kept me hooked for hours. I’ve sunk a whole weekend into just building my fleet and outsmarting rival merchants, and the pacing never drags.
